Site information

Terms

The terms for using this site, including what this information is and is not.

Status

Draft. Not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Operator name, jurisdiction and effective date to be set on publication.

Draft — counsel review before launch

These terms are a draft prepared for a qualified reviewer to check, amend and approve. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the publisher's legal name, the governing jurisdiction, the contact address and the effective date are not yet filled in. Do not rely on them as final published terms.

Who publishes this site

First on the Books is published by an independent publisher. The operating entity's legal name will be published here before launch.

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Disability Insurance Agency, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. It is not a government site and it does not speak for any of those bodies. Where it describes how the scheme works, it is describing publicly available guidance published by them, and it links to that guidance so you can read the original.

This is general information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information for an audience of allied health practitioners. It is not legal advice, financial advice, accounting advice, or clinical advice, and it is not advice about your practice or about any particular participant.

Nothing here creates a professional relationship of any kind between you and the publisher.

Before you act on anything you read here, check the official source — every factual statement on this site links to one at the point it is made — and get advice from someone qualified to give it who knows your circumstances.

Sourced statements and practitioner observations are different things

This site deliberately separates two kinds of statement, and marks them differently on the page:

  • Sourced statements describe something set out in official guidance. Each one links to the source it came from.
  • Practitioner observations describe what the work tends to feel like in practice. They are marked as such, they are not drawn from official guidance, and they are not obligations. Nothing presented as a practitioner observation should be treated as a requirement, a standard, or a benchmark.

If those two are ever confused on a page — if something reads as a rule that is only an observation — that is an error in the site. Please tell us, using the contact address in the privacy policy.

Accuracy, and the limits of it

This site aims to be accurate and to be honest about where its sources stop.

It is nevertheless information about a government scheme, and that scheme changes. Rules, price limits, support items, processes, and obligations are all subject to change, and they change without this site being notified. Guidance is also periodically restructured, which means a link that worked when it was written may later point somewhere else.

No warranty is given that the content is current, complete, or correct at the time you read it. The official sources are authoritative; this site is not.

The site deliberately publishes no rates, price limits, session volumes, or statistics of its own. Where a deadline or timeframe appears, it is quoted from the source that states it and linked at the point of use. If you need a figure, get it from the source that holds it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or anything on it — including any decision made about your practice, a participant, a service agreement, a claim, or a registration position.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

External links

This site links to third-party sites, primarily official sources. Those links are provided so that you can verify what you read. The publisher does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy.

Intellectual property

The writing, design, and structure of this site belong to the publisher. You are welcome to read it, print it, quote it with attribution, and link to it. You may not republish it wholesale or present it as your own.

Material quoted from official guidance belongs to its publisher and is quoted here for the purpose of describing and citing it accurately.

Acceptable use

Use the site to read it. Do not attempt to interfere with it, misuse it, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian state or territory that will be named here before launch.

Contact

A monitored contact address will be published here before launch.
