Notes

What changed, and when it changed.

Short notes on the guidance this handbook is built from — what moved, what was reworded, and what that means for a practice.

There are no notes here. This page exists so that when the guidance changes there is somewhere to say so, dated, rather than the change being folded silently into a manual page. An empty page that says it is empty is more honest than a page padded with filler, so it stays empty until there is something to report.

What will appear here

The manual pages carry the current position and link to the official source for every factual statement. When one of those sources changes — a reworded obligation, a moved page, a new deadline — the manual page gets corrected and a dated note appears here saying what changed and what it means in practice.

This matters more than usual right now. The pages this handbook cites carry a notice that they are being updated to reflect new legislation. Some of what is described across this site will move. The point of a notes page is that you can tell whether it has.

What will not appear here

Not a blog. No opinion pieces on scheme policy, no commentary on the sector, no news roundups, and nothing written to fill a publishing schedule. If there is nothing to correct, nothing gets posted.

The one-pager

Your first scheme participant: the setup and the sequence.

The same material as this site, compressed onto one sheet you can keep beside the desk while you set the first one up — what has to exist first, the order the work runs in, and the deadlines that bite. Same sources, cited as footnotes.

  • The sequence, and the deadlines that bite
